COLIN MOORE MEMORIAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP


Children who finished in the TOP 10 for their division at the Moora Primary School Faction Cross Country have been invited to represent Moora Primary School at the Colin Moore Memorial Interschool Cross Country Championships in Dandaragan.

Details of the carnival are as follows:

Date: FRIDAY 3™ JULY 2026

Cost: FREE. MPS will cover the entry fee.


Location: Dandaragan Recreation Centre.


Program:

10.20am: Arrive at the venue.
10:30am: Walk the course.
11.00am: Events start.
1. Girls Yr 2 and under 1000m
2. Boys Yr 2 and under 1000m
3. Girls Yr 3&4 1500m
4. Boys Yr 3&4 1500m
5: Girls Yr 5&6 2000m
6. Boys Yr 5&6 2000m
12.45pm: Presentations.
1.15pm: Students may leave.

It is not compulsory to attend if you do not wish to participate at Dandaragan, please complete the form send home with children and return to Miss Jeffers. 

Transport: Parents/Caregivers will need to organise to transport their child to and from Dandaragan. There will not be a bus. If you are unable to take your child yourself, please organise a lift for them with another student's parent. If you are still unable to sort something out, please let us know via the form and we will try to arrange a lift for them, however this cannot be guaranteed.

You may go straight to Dandaragan without coming to school first on Friday morning. Please indicate this preference on this form or notify the front office so that we know. Any competitors attending school first, will depart school for Dandaragan at 9:45am. Students may leave Dandaragan with their parent/guardian after presentations. Please sign the sign out form before leaving.

Supervision to be provided: Miss Harris and staff.

Staff action in case of accident or illness on the excursion: First Aid will be administered as appropriate or, if required emergency services will be called. Parents will be notified at the earliest opportunity. Please make sure you have included a best contact number for the day, and the medical information is current.

Special clothing or other items required: MPS school uniform (not faction shirt), sport shorts/skirt, sport shoes, school hat
and a LARGE WATER BOTTLE.

Weather: If the weather is looking rainy, they will need a change of clothes, towel, shoes and socks; and wet weather gear to stay dry while spectating. The event will still go ahead in wet weather.

Food: Students will need to bring a water bottle, their own recess, lunch and healthy snacks for the day. This is a school event so only water is permitted to drink during the day and a juice or milk at lunch time.

Behaviour: Students MUST HAVE GOOD STANDING to attend this event. Students are expected to follow the Moora Way at all times, including EXEMPLARY SPORTSMANSHIP. Any student who is not following the Moora Way with a Minor Behaviour will be dealt with as follows:
1. Minor Behaviour - reminder of the expectations
2. Warning
3. Timeout 1 - Sit out 15min with an adult.
4. Timeout 2 - Sit out 30min with an adult.
5. Exclusion from the Event - Student will not take part in any more of the event. Parent will be contacted and may be required to come and collect their child. Student will be issued with an office referral on the next day at school. It will be a step in the loss of Good Standing.
lf a Major Behaviour occurs, the student will be excluded from the rest of the carnival, and the parent/guardian will be notified. This is an Office Referral and will be dealt with accordingly.

Commitment: Students must have their Good Standing and keep up their training prior to the day. Training commitments will be discussed with the students at a briefing. Regular attendance at school must also be maintained.
